Pensing

PensingPencils are meant for writing,
But some of us like to pense.
While one goes on the attack,
Another takes up defense.
We smack our swords together.
We slash, lunge, block, and fake.
We make the sounds needed.
Until our lead tips break.
"You’ll poke an eye out!" teachers scold,
"That’s not what pencils are for."
So we continue writing,
Until pensing starts once more.
